Phoenix College, a Maricopa Community College, studied course success rates in a Biology course, BIO201 (Human Anatomy & Physiology I), to determine the effectiveness of Nearpod as an instructional tool. About half of the students were in the control group who did not use Nearpod versus the other half in the experimental group. All students were engaged in their courses through
in-person, hybrid learning, and online learning.
Results showed that the use of Nearpod led to higher success rates and fewer course withdrawals, regardless of lesson delivery or environment across:
- Genders
- Ethnicities
- Ages
- First generation status
- Academic loads
- Instructional locations
